Social Skills: Manners, kindness, cooperative play, taking turns, compassion, respect,
and identifing and controling their emotions are all taught and reinforced through modeling and positive reinforcement.
Self-help Skills: Washing hands, brushing teeth, dressing, handling bathroom needs,
picking up toys, clearing the table, and taking care of possessions are all a normal part of our day.
Gross Motors Skills: With the equipment and space available, running, hopping, jumping, balancing, swinging
and playing ball are often a part of each child's typical day. Additional gross motor activites include parachute
play, creative music and movement, exercising and numerous games.
Fine Motor Skills (puzzles, legos, blocks, manipulative toys, lacing beads, drawing, coloring, writing, cutting, play
dough)
Math Skills (counting, patterns, simple addition & subtraction, one-to-one correspondence. We use a wide variety
of manipulative activities and incorporate math during our daily activities and circle time)
Literature-based Activities (circle time, stories, charts, finger plays, songs, beginning reading and writing skills
and dictating their own stories)
Letter and Number Explorations (letter of the week activities including letter books, fun tactile activities, games,
and a print rich environment. Letters and phonics are learned in fun ways and in ways they are important to them, such as
letters in their name or their friends.
Computer Enrichment (age appropriate computer programs teach academic skills as well as basic computer skills, such
as handling CD‘s and starting or exiting games)
Science (hands-on explorations about our environment, animals, and nature.)
Social Studies (Learning about our community.)
Art Media Discovery (a variety of painting techniques, markers, glue, scissors, collage materials, beads, stencils,
